Metal Shark Partners with Rescue ONE Connector Boats Agreement Expands Rescue ONE Lineup
Jeanerette, La., May 11, 2010 - Metal Shark Boats today announced that it has partnered with Rescue ONE Connector Boats to enhance Rescue ONE's lineup of flood/dive rescue and firefighting vessels. The partnership allows Rescue ONE to continue its focus on building small, versatile rescue boats while adding Metal Shark's speed, capacity, and militarygrade construction to the equation. Rescue ONE will now be the sole agent offering Metal Shark Boats for sale to the fire and rescue markets. The pairing also allows Rescue ONE to offer numerous models that qualify for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program offered by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The Metal Shark models to be offered under the new partnership are:
Relentless series - Built to venture into areas inaccessible by conventional craft, Metal Shark's Relentless series of multi-mission, shallow-water fire and rescue boats ranges in size
from 21- to 28-feet. Featuring dive reliefs both to port and starboard, the aggressive veehull, welded aluminum Relentless series also offers a unique foam collar fendering system and 20,000-pound towing capacity. The Relentless series also offers an optional 750 gallon-per-minute (gpm) fire pump with remoteor manually-controlled monitor for firefighting applications.
Defiant series - Metal Shark's Defiant series of rescue and firefighting platforms includes models ranging from 27- to 38-feet. The series features an enclosed cabin, unique solidfoam
collar fendering system, Metal Shark's 24 Relentless and propulsion systems ranging from 500 to 900 horsepower (hp). Defiant models also offer an optional 750 gph fire pump with remote- or manuallycontrolled monitor for firefighting applications.
